Welcome to The Angry Vegan Personal Training!

My name is Liam O'Brien and I'm the owner and head coach at The Angry Vegan Personal Training in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, I have been a personal trainer and coach for more than 15 years, since 2006.

The Angry Vegan is based at Yorkshire Kettlebell Club, a private gym and personal training studio in the centre of Huddersfield. The video below will show more about the gym but although it's a fully equipped gym, whenever you book personal training with The Angry Vegan you will always have the entire gym to yourself. Over the years we have found that we get consistently better results when clients feel comfortable training and aren't feeling self conscious about others watching them train.

At The Angry Vegan we specialise in strength training however that training may take many forms. My competitive history is primarily in kettlebell lifting and I have trained with some of the best coaches in the world but we also utilise traditional powerlifting styles, TRX or suspension training, circuit training and even strongman!

At The Angry Vegan, my clients tend to be between 30 and 60 years old and have either never trained properly or consistently before, or haven't trained for some time. Very rarely have they ever lifted weights previously or strayed from the usual machines or prancing and dancing style of training that you find in a commercial gym. This doesn't seem to hold them back though and currently I have a 70/30 female/male split with my youngest client being 23, my oldest 76 and several being with me for 2 years or more!

The Gym

Yorkshire Kettlebell Club is a private gym in the centre of Huddersfield. It is exclusively for one to one and small group personal training and is not open to the general public. 

The gym is fully kitted out with some of the best fitness equipment available including:

  • Both traditional and competition kettlebells from 6 - 64kg, powerbags, plyometric boxes and battle ropes.

  • Slam balls from 5 to 80kg, atlas stones to 120kg with loading platform.

  • Squat rack / power cage, deadlift platform with 1000kg plus of weights.

  • Limitless Free Trainer.

  • Primal Strength leg press and pendulum squat.

  • Full size strongman yoke, log, axle and farmers walk handles.

  • TRX suspension trainers.

  • Punchbags.

As ours is a private gym you need never worry about the equipment being cleaned properly or being used by dozens of people before you. Each and every piece of equipment is cleaned and disinfected each time its used and there are cleaning stations around the gym with hand sanitizer, anti viral wipes and spray and blue roll.
